Interested in Programing, but not sure where to start? Want to know how software on a computer works or how to put together your own code? This is the course for you! This short course will introduce you to the basic principles of computer coding giving you a better understanding of what it involves and enabling you to engage more effectively with your child when they bring projects home! Duration: 5 weeks
Entry Requirements: To access the course, you are required to have: Level 2 English - this will be assessed at interview Level 2 Maths - this will be assessed at interview
What will I learn? During the course you will gain: Understand the characteristics and uses of a software program Design a software program Develop and test a software program Review the finished software program
What skills will I gain? By studying this course you will be able to: Logic gates Algorithm and logic algorithm flow chart Variables and Data types Looping and key differences in looping Procedures and functions
How will I be assessed? This is a level 2 course, so there are no exams. Your knowledge and understanding of what you are learning will be assessed throughout the course.
What can I do next? Completion of the course will enable you to: Progress to another IT course offered by the college
