This course is for anyone who has completed a Level 2 Diploma in Site Carpentry and wishes to progress their learning to Level 3.
Entry Requirements: To access this course you are required to: Have a Level 2 diploma in site carpentry Have shown good attendance on your last course and a positive attitude towards teaching and learning
What will I learn? During this course you will learn: Health, Safety and welfare in construction Principles of organising, planning and pricing construction work First and second fix English and maths (if required)
What skills will I gain? By studying this course you will: Understand aspects of management First fix flooring, roofing and stairs Second fix Operations, Double doors and mouldings Set up and use fixed and transportable machinery Understand health and safety and how it is applied in the construction industry Improve your Maths and English skills
How will I be assessed? You will be continually assessed throughout the programme. There are a small number of formal exams to sit during the year and a number of practical assessments that you have to pass as you progress with your practical knowledge.
What can I do next? With a Level 3 Diploma in Site Carpentry, you can look for employment, either as an apprentice or a full-time position. If you wanted to progress your learning, you could apply for a Level 4 HNC in Construction and the Built Environment.
